Speaking at the International Vaccine Industry Forum 2025 held on 8 September 2025, Professor Leo Poon, Co-Director of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Global Health Institute (HKJCGHI), delivered a presentation titled “Beyond COVID-19: The Quest for Broad-Spectrum Vaccines and Pandemic Preparedness.”  He highlighted how the pandemic accelerated innovation in vaccine development, but also exposed the limitations of current platforms in addressing emerging variants and future viral threats.

Professor Poon showcased HKJCGHI’s cutting-edge research in developing next-generation vaccines that aim to provide durable, cross-protective immunity. He emphasized the Institute’s commitment to proactive pandemic preparedness through global collaboration and translational research in vaccine innovation.
